Full Stack PHP Developer - Ronald James

Full Stack PHP Developer

As a Full Stack PHP Developer, you will work as part of a Scrum team alongside an Account Manager, Designer, Developer and the marketing team.

Your role will primarily require you to take website design flats and functional specifications for a range of websites from single page, parallax portfolio sites to complex web apps. You will be expected to work across both front and back ends to create high quality, standards-compliant code using MVC development models and up-to-date – primarily open-source – content management/ecommerce software. Increasingly we design mobile-first.

As well as building and maintaining websites, the role also affords the successful candidate time out of the Scrum team to work, from time to time, on more complex web apps and digital product development for ourselves and clients.

We’re looking for an experienced, passionate and driven PHP Developer, a technically-minded individual with a desire to expand your current knowledge and skill set that spans back and front end technologies. You should have an excellent understanding of PHP5, MySQL, OOP and MVC, a knowledge and ability to create HTML5/CSS3 cross-compatible, standards-compliant, responsive applications.

Exposure to  WordPress, Magento, or Laravel would be very much advantageous, as is an understanding and knowledge of Linux-based server setups. That you are a self-starter with a keen interest in discovering and proposing new technologies and frameworks is absolutely imperative. This is, then, a challenging but rewarding opportunity to apply your existing knowledge and work with our talented team to produce excellent work through a period of sustained and steady growth.

We are looking for someone with:

Exceptional knowledge of PHP5 and MySQL
An excellent understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript & jQuery
A strong knowledge of the Unix command line
An excellent understanding of MVC, CMS and eCommerce frameworks such as SilverStripe, WordPress, Magento, or Laravel
Understanding of the importance of responsive website design
Comfortable with version control and GIT
A good understanding of Agile methodology and development
Experience in CakePHP and Phalcon would be a bonus
